Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Patna became a scene of chaos on Friday when frustrated passengers confronted airline staff at the Indira Gandhi International Airport due to a significant delay in the flight. The disturbance unfolded around 3:10 pm at the domestic boarding gate 54, where passengers bound for Patna on SpiceJet flight no. SG-8721/STD were causing a commotion. The reason for the uproar was revealed to be a delay of over 7 hours, attributed to the late arrival of the incoming flight.
The Airport Authority, upon noticing the disruption, promptly took action by informing the boarding gate-in-charge (B/G I/C), who, along with the Quick Response Team (QRT), intervened to pacify the situation. Despite efforts to ease tensions, the incident highlighted the frustration and inconvenience experienced by passengers due to the prolonged delay.
However, SpiceJet provided a contrasting perspective, asserting that passengers had been duly informed about the revised departure time well in advance. According to the airline, the information about the updated departure time for the SpiceJet Delhi-Patna flight (SG 8721) was communicated to passengers at 12:40 a.m. the night before. The airline emphasized that passengers had been given notice to plan their travel accordingly.
